In the Grodno region, a comprehensive check of territorial defense administration bodies is underway, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry.
"In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, the first stage of a comprehensive inspection of the territorial defense management bodies of the Grodno region is being carried out on July 6. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Viktor Gulevich, handed the corresponding directive to the chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik," the department noted.
The purpose of the audit is to monitor the ability of executive committee officials to ensure the deployment of territorial defense. In the course of the check, the local authorities of the Mostovsky district of the Grodno region will form the headquarters of the district's territorial defense and a separate rifle battalion of the territorial troops.
“Today we are starting the first stage of a comprehensive inspection of the territorial defense authorities of the Grodno region. This event is generally planned, however, at the direction of the head of state, some adjustments were made to the procedure for its conduct. During formation, the personnel of the territorial troops will restore their skills in using weapons and equipment, recall the functional duties provided for by the corresponding positions, prepare for the performance of tasks of territorial defense, including with the internal affairs bodies. , during which the territorial troops will work out the tasks of protecting and defending objects, conducting reconnaissance and search operations, "said Viktor Gulevich.
The measures will make it possible to objectively assess the effectiveness of the created control system for the formation of the territorial troops of the Grodno region and the readiness of the territorial defense forces to fulfill the assigned tasks. The second phase of verification is scheduled for October. Nine more districts of the Grodno region will also be checked.
