"Any talk that now we need to take some measures, after which life in the country will deteriorate, and then there will be a mythological and fantastic growth - this, unfortunately, is a fairy tale. Everything that was done in Belarus is extremely correct. Over the past decades, the country has not only been preserved, but its industrial base has been strengthened many times - light industry, heavy industry, and mechanical engineering. Few middle-sized countries, let alone small ones, can boast of this, " Alexey Gromyko said.

According to him, if you fantasize and imagine that Belarus becomes part of the European Union's single market, there will be nothing left of the industry here. "Maybe there will be a screwdriver Assembly," he said, " Or take the role of Belarus in the international arena. Let's say Minsk is a platform for negotiations on Ukraine. In order for the country to continue to serve as this platform, it must be a subject, it cannot be the younger brother of Poland or Lithuania in the European Union, let alone the United States."

According to Alexey Gromyko, if Belarus had strategically chosen a different model of behavior in international politics, it would have lost most of the trumps and levers that it now has to promote its interests in the world, including in China.
