In the engine room of the power unit No. 2 of Belarusian NPP, the installation of blocks for bearings and frameworks of low pressure cylinders (LPCs) of the turbine unit began, BelTA learned from the press service of the general designer and the general contractor of the construction - ASE (Rosatom Engineering Division).

“The installation of bearings and housings for LPCs is the start of the installation of the main equipment of the power unit’s engine room,” Vitaly Polyanin said, vice president and director of the project for the construction of Belarusian NPP of JSC “ASE”, “All equipment passed the entrance control. The turbine generator stator will be set to the design position".

All elements of the turbine are made by PJSC Power Machines. The turbine unit is a five-framework (four low pressure cylinders, one high pressure cylinder) two-flow machine with an electrical capacity of 1200 MW and a rotational speed of 3000 rpm.

Belarusian NPP with two VVER-1200 reactors with a total capacity of 2400 MW is being built according to Russian project near Ostrovets (Grodno region). The first power unit is planned to be commissioned in 2019, the second - in 2020.
